Which is the best battery to be used with solar panels for small scale applicati

Hi,
I already have a small scale solar setup with 20watts panel and 2*7AH lead acid batteries.
I bought the batteries 1 year ago and already it has started to loose lot of its charge by just connecting a small led bulb of 5watts.
So please suggest me a good battery which is best compatible for solar power.
And how much does it cost?
Please help.
